South East Asia Indonesia Bronze Bell w/ Garuda Shape handle ca. 19-20th c.. A handsome brass bell with relief decoration around its wide bell and a large handle in the form of a standing Garuda with wings spread and a crest atop its head. Garuda is a mythical bird who serves as the Hindu god Vishnu's vahana (mount) and is particularly popular in Indonesian artwork. Measures 5 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches the handle is loose from the bell body with age wear to surface as seen in the images. Weighs one pound.
