This is an authentic antique Mandalay Period
(1752-1885)
Buddhist Temple bell that was used in a Buddhist Wat. . The Buddhist inscription carved into the outside of the bell can still be read. The original inscriptions are no longer visible on most old Buddhist temple bells. This is a sturdy bell with nice thick walls and a strong crown. Also, this bell still has the original clapper which is rare, and it retains a very beautiful clear tone.
Bells like this are still used in Buddhist Wats (temples) throughout Southeast Asia and are also used by monks during religious ceremonies and festivals. This magnificent piece is a must have for any serious collector or devout Buddhist practitioner. It will look splendid in your home office or temple.
